Emily Aquino
Associate
“We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.”
Emily is an associate at Acquis who is passionate about leading people through organizational change. Drawing from her previous consulting experience in transformational management, as well as a background studying ethics and persuasion in philosophy, Emily guides people into new ways of working by walking with them towards the future. She avoids one size fits all solutions, and instead leverages the experiences of stakeholders and colleagues to problem solve thoughtfully and organically.
Emily’s approach to client solutions is driven by three things: 1) root cause analysis, 2) context, and 3) adaptability. From her experience, the best way to solve a problem begins with accepting that each one is unique, and subsequently deserves a tailored solution. By leveraging this strategy, she has successfully and consistently delivered quality products to her past clients, who range from small Managed Care Organizations transforming to provide a breadth of new services, to Fortune 10 companies implementing new products.
To facilitate positive user experiences, Emily intertwines stakeholder feedback into her design processes. Emily is an advocate of proactive planning and implementing preventative measures to avoid stakeholder abrasion. However, when new circumstances inevitably come up as projects progress, Emily knows to remain adaptable to roadblocks or changes that uncover themselves. Emily has a BA in philosophy, with a minor in history from the University of Maryland, College Park. She occasionally serves as a panelist for her alma mater or provides talks and encouragement to other philosophy majors looking to pivot into business. In her free time, Emily enjoys indoor rock climbing, journaling, and competitive online gaming.
