Joana discovered her passion for Human Resources while attending law school and working for a start-up company in San Francisco. In 2008, Joana moved to the East Coast and joined Acquis.
Currently, she resides in two countries in two different continents with her husband and two children. When Joana is not traveling and working, she is either out on the golf course working on her handicap, or learning French.

At Acquis, Joana is responsible for planning and administering all the human resources functions. Joana has 18 years of HR experience in various industries. Before joining Acquis, she was the Regional HR Manager for Propark America, Inc., where she focused on high-volume recruiting, retention, and employee training. Prior to that, she was with Uniprise (a division of United Health Care) as a Client Services Manager in charge of the overall delivery of benefits and services to companies such as Seagate, PetSmart, Restoration Hardware, and California Automobile Association.

Joana holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She earned her undergraduate degree in politics, magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco and attended Golden Gate University Law School.
